Generali implements Remote Appraiser

Generali Slovenia and IN2 completed the implementation of INsurance2 Remote Appraiser earlier this month, a cloud solution for digital damage inspection during claims.

Now that appraisal agents have access to all key functionalities, Generali and IN2 have moved to phase 2 of the project and are working on integration with existing CRM and DMS systems.

Remote Appraiser lets agents initiate a call with customers, assume control of the smartphone camera and capture photo and video evidence of the damage.

This makes appraising damage less intrusive for the majority of customers and provides Generali with access during times when physical contact is not possible. It also reduces the need for the customer to re-input know information.

“This product would not have made sense just 5 years ago. But today with customers in all age groups using smartphones, and things like Video ID being an accepted standard in insurance, solutions such as this one are the right way to accelerate the digital transformation of insurance”, says Mark Sedlak, Head of Sales at IN2 Koper.

The perfect balance

When choosing the solution, Generali thoroughly scanned the market. Most large vendor solutions often overlapped with core functionalities, while many small or DIY approaches lacked the reliability and options to be connected with existing CRM and other systems.

The IN2 Remote Appraiser was the Goldielocks choice. It delivered a simple experience for agents and customers, is fast and low risk to implement, while providing predictable and gradual expansion options for further integration.

“We found IN2 Remote Appraiser it to be a low risk decision, a fast to implement product and also competitively priced, while being robust, integrable and backed by a partner with a strong focus on insurance digital transformation.

By adding IN2 Remote Appraiser into our claims workflow, our team is now ready to support customers with damage appraisals without physical contact. We estimate this is a great option in up to 90% of all reported incidents.

Together with IN2 we managed to implement it, onboard 80 Generali appraisers and staff and also pass the solution through rigorous compliance and usability testing. Making sure it adheres to our high customer experience standards.

We are excited that our digitalization strategies are being executed with both large initiatives and quick win project such as this one. This provides our team with a more efficient process and delivers digital benefits to our customers.”

Achieving a seamless data flow between agents,
customers and management

Today appraisal agents use several applications, have 10 and more browser tabs open in order to process evidence, customer and case information.

Transitioning towards an integrated CRM, DMS and CORE experience connects those systems into one process, while keeping everyone, including the customer, always informed. This is the direction future integrations and evolutions of the claims process will follow.

The second phase of IN2 Remote Appraiser will also follow the low-coding paradigm of INsurance2 Digital solutions.

The focus will be on creating a seamless data flow between agents, customers, management and back systems, while at the same time significantly reducing the number of user interfaces needed to file and process a claim. A more compact and streamlined process also helps with assuring compliance and deepening trust with customers.
